Tinig, which means “voice” in Tagalog, is a family built on musical and cultural expression. Founded in 1988, Tinig Choral is a Pilipino-American a cappella group that strives to celebrate and share Filipino culture through different forms of music, from traditional chorale to contemporary popular hits, with its members and the greater UCLA community. Above all, our main goal is to foster a welcoming environment where anyone and everyone can learn and expand on their love of singing. We hope to create a safe space where members can share their love of music while also creating close bonds with one another. Tinig Choral is the only a cappella group on campus that holds no auditions, so all are welcome to come sing and learn more about Filipino culture!

“My favorite thing about being in my group is the level of support we have for each other, both in and outside of the group. If one of us was a part of a different show or concert, we’d all show up to cheer that person on. Everyone in Tinig becomes good friends, and even now, we stay connected during this pandemic.”
- anonymous Tinig Alum

"If you're not trying, you're not trying."
- Angel, past Tinig Director
"Wait you don't have to be Filipino to join???"
