What do these "quick facts" mean? |
TYPEType has to do with the types of voices an a cappella group will accept, or the main focus of the group. Types of a cappella groups include: Mixed/All-Gender: All genders are accepted, all voice types are accepted, from Bass to Soprano. Male-Identifying: Those who identify as male are accepted, or voice parts from Bass to Tenor are accepted. Female-Identifying: Those who identify as female are accepted, or voice parts from Low Alto/Tenor to Soprano. Community Service: The main focus of these groups are community service, in addition to music and gigs. Cultural/Religious: These groups focus on unifying a certain culture or religion, in addition to music and gigs. |
COMMITMENT INTENSITYOn this site, each group has self-rated commitment intensity on a scale of 1 to 5. In general, a group with a level 5 has a low tolerance for absences (i.e. it's hard to participate in your group while doing lots of other things on campus), and they do ~2 or more gigs per month. A group with a level 1 has a high tolerance for absences, and you’d do ~1-3 gigs per year. |
